The Knights of Lithuania Council 63 – Lehigh Valley is the local chapter of the national organization (Knights of Lithuania). The goal of the organization is to discuss Lithuanian culture, language and customs, and other events as they pertain to Lithuania. We also support both Lithuanian and local charities. Over the past year, we have given money to the Bethlehem Salvation Army, The Children’s Home of Easton, and other Lithuanian organizations.
You do NOT have to be Catholic to join. Membership categories are:
1) New or returning regular member (18 years and older) is a practicing Catholic and of Lithuanian ancestry.
2) Associate member is a Catholic, non-Lithuanian spouse of regular member (18 years and older).
3) Auxiliary regular/Friend of Lithuania are not required to be Catholic or of Lithuanian ancestry, but must adhere to the ideals of the Knights of Lithuania rooted in the motto “For God and Country” (18 years and older).
4) Regular Junior are under age 18 and are practicing Catholics and of Lithuanian ancestry.
5) Auxiliary Junior are not required to be Catholic or of Lithuanian ancestry, but must adhere to the ideals of the Knights of Lithuania rooted in the motto “For God and Country.”
We hold our meetings monthly on a Sunday, usually around 12:30 at a local restaurant. At the meetings we discuss what is happening with the organization at the national and local level, discuss Lithuanian affairs, and conduct business like any other organization.
